Commission U.S. Nuclear Regulatory (NRC) Friday expressed "concern" about the possible impact of possible ict flooding of the central Illinois (north) in the inspections carried out after the accident at Fukushima, Japan, in 2011, according to AFP. "NRC inspectors identified several issues of concern during the recent inspection, conducted as a result of the Fukushima accident" at the center of Dresden, the Commission said in a statement. This warning comes in the context of several plants in the east have been affected by Hurricane Sandy months, mainly due to rising water level in the cooling system. Central Dresden was not affected by the recent weather, but NRC afraid of the consequences that a major flood could have on plant safety in use since 1970, although this hypothesis has labeled as unlikely. NRC is concerned in particular about the "effectiveness" of the emergency procedures provided in case of floods and want to know if this plant, built in 1966, meet the new safety standard to cope with this kind of weather. Commission has a period of "30 days" plant operator, Exelon American company to meet its concerns, it added.
