Last month, St. Louis Cardinals outfielder Oscar Taveras crashed his car killing both himself and his girlfriend in the Dominican Republic. Toxicology reports indicated that he was not only legally drunk at the time of his death, but he was over five times the legal limit in the D.R., according to Dominican authorities Wednesday.
“The results of the toxicology reading plus studies showed that Taveras had an alcohol level of 0.287 grams at the time of the occupational accident. That means he was legally intoxicated when he crashed.” — Tessie Sanchez, a spokeswoman for the Attorney General’s Office told The Associated Press .
