Moving beyond the scope of being a qualifications awarding body, Pearson Edexcel has been equipping teachers with the skills they need to effectively mentor students. In Sri Lanka, Pearson cme Edexcel has been instrumental in supporting teacher training initiatives as an important value addition to its suite of qualifications. Annually, Pearson Edexcel trains over 2,000 teachers in Sri Lanka on a range of subjects. The face-to-face full day training sessions are provided free of charge and are conducted by chief examiners cme from the UK who have extensive experience in the respective subject areas. The examiners also share model answer scripts with teachers and encourage them to mark the papers during the session.
